A week of concerts, private study, group rehearsals and other activities begins today at Utah State University's Summer Music Clinic.
On-site registration will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. at USU's Chase Fine Arts Center, with a free concert by the USU Alumni Band scheduled at 7 p.m. in the center's Kent Concert Hall. Nicholas Morrison directs the group.The Matt Johnson Jazz Quintet will perform Tuesday, June 24, followed by the Arcata String Quartet on Thursday, both also at 7 in the Kent Concert Hall. Admission to the Tuesday concert is free. Tickets to the Arcata Quartet are $3 at the door.
Student concerts, featuring junior- and senior-high-school-age performers, are scheduled Friday, June 27 at 6 p.m. in the center's Tippetts Exhibition Hall (piano ensembles) and at 7:30 p.m. in Kent (jazz ensemble and choir). The week will conclude with a Grand Finale Concert Saturday, June 28, at 1 p.m., also in Kent. There is no charge for admission.
