David Reese Holmgren, 56, died June 3, 1997 in Willcox, Arizona.

He was born January 28, 1941 in Brigham City, a son of Wayne David and June Norr Holmgren. He married Ute Cussnick, October 7, 1966 in Logan. They were later divorced. He married Ulla Johanna Henning, November 5, 1996 in Elko, Nevada.David was reared and educated in Tremonton and attended Utah State University. He farmed in Tremonton and Hansel Valley. He lived in Seattle, Wash., for two years where he worked for Boeing Aircraft and Salt Lake City for three years and was presently a truck driver and owner/operator of Empire Homes in Ogden.

He was a member of the LDS Church and had served a mission in Sweden. David was a high priest and had served in the scouting program, in the Sunday School presidency and as ward clerk.

Surviving are his wife, Ulla Holmgren of West Valley City; two sons, Torsten David Holmgren, Bountiful; Chris Daryl, Salt Lake City; his mother, June Holmgren, Tremonton; seven stepchildren, Petra, Kyra, Kurtis, Rina, Johanna, Tauyna, Tara; one grandson, Payton Holmgren; brothers and sister, Tamara H. Zollinger; Jill H. Packer; Lyle N. Holmgren; Val N. Holmgren. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Holmgren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 9, 1997, 11 a.m. at Tremonton 4th Ward, 660 No. 300 East with Bishop Harry McMurdie, officiating. Friends may call Sunday, June 8, 6-8 p.m. and Monday, 9:15-10:30 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 No. 100 East, Tremonton. Interment in the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
