Utah State coach Larry Eustachy, whose summer basketball camp starts today in Logan, is one of the top two or three candidates for the DePaul University job for which he interviewed last week, but Eustachy says no offer has been made, and he's not sure he'd accept it.
In fact, Eustachy said Saturday night that, "I just really think I can't leave this place. This place is perfect for my wife and my family. I really believe I'm going to be here."Eustachy says he has not pursued the DePaul job, said to pay about $300,000 to start to replace the fired Joey Meyer, other than to go to the interview last week. "If I'm ever going to leave (Logan), they have to really want me," he says of his reasons for not pushing hard.
Rumors have said he and wife Stacy are to go to Chicago for a second interview this week, but Eustachy says he doesn't know if that will happen.
The Chicago Tribune has reported that Eustachy and DePaul women's coach Doug Bruno are the leading candidates and that the decision will be made within 10 days.
