Raymond Randolph Robson, age 86, of Sigurd, died July 20, 1997 in West Valley City, Utah of a massive stroke.
He was born September 13, 1910 in Lordsberg, New Mexico, a son of John and Ida Billingsley Robson, Jr. He married Ellen Celeste Tiffany, May 22, 1934 in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple. She died July 31, 1978. Ray served in the Arizona National Guard. He worked for the Sante Fe Railroad for 18 years, the Rio Grande Railroad for two years and retired from the Union Pacific Railroad after working for 26 years as a car man. He and his wife moved to Sigurd in 1974, after his retirement. He worked in the Manti LDS Temple as an ordinance worker for over 14 years. The past 20 months, Ray has lived in Kearns, to be near his family. He worked in the Jordan River Temple for several months. Ray enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling and touring.He will be missed by his loving children, Ray Robson, Jr. of Hurricane, UT; Larry and Sandi Robson of Kearns; Ellen and Dick Goodell of Palo Alto, CA; Sylvia Williams of Seaside, CA; Faye and Dale CLawson of Santa Rosa, CA; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jared Asa Robson; daughter-in-law, Joan Robson; great-grandson, Kevin Robson; five sisters and two brothers, Mary Campbell, Susan Hunter, LaNora Hodge, Mabel Stout, Felicia Robson, Lemuel Robson, and Rulon Robson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 25, 1997, at 12 noon, in the Sigurd LDS Ward chapel, where friends may call for viewing Friday, from 12:30 to 1:30 prior to services. Burial, Sigurd Cemetery, directed by Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, UT.
