Ila Hubbard Bridge passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 26, 1997 from causes incident to diabetes and heart failure.
She was born April 10, 1938 in Malad, Oneida County, Idaho to Hazel Mary Jacobson and Clark Lamar Hubbard. She married Robert M. Bridge on August 10, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple. Lifetime member of the LDS Church. Served in many positions including Young Women's President, Jr. Sunday School Coordinator, Visiting Teaching Supervisor and assistant librarian. She owned and operated Ila's Deli and was involved in Catering Services for many years. Ila was noted for her culinary talents, which many of her family and friends enjoyed. She will be missed by her family and friends and most especially by her grandchildren, who affectionately called her Grandma Ila. Her family always came first and she was never too tired to fix them all their favorite treats.Survived by her husband; children, Natalie (W. Randal) Miller, Spring, Texas; Julia (Jon Denis) Quitiquit, Park City, Utah; Robert H. (Julie) Bridge, Clinton, Utah; Jeffrey C. (Karen) Bridge; and William John, Salt Lake City; and by eleven grandchildren whom she adored and loved very much. She is also survived by her mother, Hazel Mary Hubbard, Bountiful, Utah; and brothers and sisters, David L. (Jessie) Hubbard, Holbrook, Idaho; Anna (Ron) Hulme, Castro Valley, California; Ruth (Dean) Christensen, Centerville, Utah; C.J. (Faye) Hubbard, St. George, Utah; Von (Shauna) Hubbard, West Valley City, Utah; and Don (Dixie) Hubbard, Malad, Idaho. Preceded in death by an infant daughter, Patrice; and father, Clark L. Hubbard; as one family member put it - there is a great Reunion going on over there!
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 30, 12 noon, in the Monument Park 17th Ward Chapel, 2795 Crestview Drive (approximately 1000 South 2800 East, above the Zoo). Friends may call Tuesday evening, from 6-8 p.m., at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, and at the Ward on Wednesday, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow the services in the Salt Lake City Cemetery, under direction of Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary.
