Mickey and Minnie will probably skip it, but at least the original princess will be on hand for a benefit showing of Disney's "Sleeping Beauty."
The color- and sound-enhanced version of the 1959 classic will be introduced at the Tennessee Theater in Knoxville by Mary Costa, the voice of the title character. The Sept. 12 screening will benefit the Childhelp Advocacy Center."I know that Mr. Disney, who spent a lifetime making life magical for children, would be very pleased that this showing is to help abused children," Costa said.
She recently was at Disneyland for promotions connected with the park's 42nd anniversary and the Sept. 16 video release of the movie.
