Kimberly Roylance, Sandy, who has served on the Sandy City Planning Commission and the Kearns Town Council, has been appointed by the County Commission to the Salt Lake County Library System Board.
She succeeds Jan Wells, Riverton, who served four years but was not reappointed to the board. At a recent meeting the board commended the civic worker for her service and presented her with an engraved silver bookmark and a book on the history of Salt Lake County.
Roylance, who will start a four-year term beginning at the board's July 28 meeting at Park Library in Taylorsville, has a strong background in researching and negotiating issues. She was a founding member of the United Association of Community Councils, which library officials say provides valuable experience for a board member.
