Ira E. Ritter, former vice chairman of a national food and cosmetic distributor, has been named president of Biomune Systems Inc., 540 S. Arapeen Drive, a company developing and selling biologic pharmaceutical products through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Optim Nutrition Inc.
In a transaction relating to Ritter becoming president, the company acquired the right to purchase Ritter's controlling interest in Rockwood Inc., a company that distributes more than 100 products to health food stores nationwide.
David Derrick has been interim president of Biomune for three months and remains as chairman and chief executive officer.
