Edna Oakley Boyer, 86, died Thursday, August 7, 1997 at Loving Hands, following complications from a stroke.

She was born November 24, 1910, in Springville, Utah to Richard Deloss and Julia Malinda (Minnie) Croff Oakley. She married Francis Oscar Boyer, November 27, 1940 and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.Edna lived in Utah most of her life. She lived in Sierra Vista, Arizona for the past 22 months. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings over the years.

Edna was a generous, kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was devoted to her family and church. She was always cheerful and thoughtful and she touched the hearts and lives of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1989, also her parents, four sisters, four brothers, and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Wilson Boyer. She is survived by her daughter, Kaye (Norm) Evans of Sierra Vista, AZ; son, Richard Myron (Grace) Boyer of Smithfield, UT. She has nine grandchildren: Scott (Yvonne) Evans, Gilbert, AZ; Todd (Lisa) Evans, Hereford, AZ; Shawn (Amanda) Evans, Sierra Vista, AZ; Wendy Boyer, Greenbelt, MD; Rachel (Scott) Gardner, Orem, UT; Ben Boyer, Logan, UT; Andy Boyer, (LDS Missionary), Moscow, Russia; Danny Boyer, Smithfield, UT; Chrissy Boyer, Smithfield, UT; six step-grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 14, 1997, 11 a.m. at the LDS Provost Chapel, 640 South Utah Ave., Provo, UT. Friends may call Wed. evening from 6-8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 So., Springville or Thursday morning from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
