A 15 year journey with breast cancer ended August 23, 1997, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Born January 18, 1940, Salt Lake City, Utah, to Harold J. and Helen Cox Colbert. Immigrated to Canada August, 1972. BA, MA, University of Utah. PhD, University of Alberta. Helen taught Sociology at various colleges and universities in Montana and Alberta. She was an instructor of Sociology at Grant MacEwan Community College when ill health forced her retirement from a career to which she was devoted.She is survived by mother, Salt Lake City; adored sister, Beverly (Mel) Draper; brother, David J. (Karen); five nephews, all West Valley; special friend, Dr. John Zorbas, Edmonton, Canada; and numerous friends around the world.

At Helen's request, graveside services will be at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South, SLC. Saturday, August 30, 1997, 11 a.m. Funeral directors, Valley View Funeral Home.
