O.J. Simpson reportedly moved to a gated community with 24-hour security guards, leaving behind the mansion he had called home for 20 years - the one where a detective found a bloody glove that figured heavily in his murder trial.

Simpson moved out of the Brentwood estate he lost under the financial stress of two trials after the 1994 slayings of his former wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman, an attorney said Monday.Television reports said Simpson's new home is about one mile east of his former Rockingham estate near I-405.

Residents of the community who talked with The Associated Press described the area as quiet, safe and friendly with plenty of children and longtime owners. Security guards monitor the neighborhood around the clock.

"It wouldn't bother me," said Mario Piatelli when asked how he feels about Simpson moving in. "He's got to live somewhere."

Simpson has said he was looking for a home nearby so his children Sydney and Justin would not have to change schools.
