I was disappointed to see destructive behavior exhibited in my neighborhood because someone was angry at Orem city.
Generally I'm for the little guy and in most cases I would favor the small family vs. the big bad city. Likewise I have been at odds with the city at certain times, but I did not let that get the best of me - I dealt with the problem and went on with my life. We all have problems. One situation where one family agreed on a certain price of the sale of their home, then later found out that another person had received more money, decided to fight back negatively and only made the situation worse. They wanted the best deal and they wouldn't let someone else get the better of them.However, I still may have thought Orem should have given them more for their home but when I was on my way to school I saw the most childish behavior displayed before me. In big black letters painted on the home were the words "Orem lies" and "Orem is dishonest." I thought poor form. I was instantly in favor of the city and felt whatever these people got was more than they deserved. To think of spray-painting their own home, like a gang that destroys others' properties except that they destroyed their family name. This family could have been misled or they might have been treated unfairly, but their negative behavior I feel shows they are just selfish and greedy and anyone who would desecrate their own home gets no sympathy from me. Perhaps if they had fought back positively with some intelligence, things might have changed for the better. That is why self-destructive behavior never solves problems and makes the situation only worse.
