About 100 angry warriors are leaving Hill Air Force Base this weekend for Kuwait.

Not that they are particularly enraged. "Angry Warriors" is the nickname of the men and women of the 729th Air Control Squadron. They are leaving for Kuwait at 1 a.m. on Saturday, said Staff Sgt. James Rush of Hill's 388th Fighter Wing. The unit will detect, track and identify air traffic. If necessary, they will direct allied forces in action against enemy targets. "To accomplish this, squadron members collect radar input from a variety of land-based and airborne" sources, he said. Also in the squadron are maintenance specialists who inspect and repair hardware.

The 100-day deployment is to support Operation Southern Watch, the enforcement of the no-fly zone over southern Iraq.
