Adam Duritz of the Counting Crows once sang: "I want to be Bob Dylan." On Wednesday, Sept. 10, he will not get to be Bob Dylan, but he will get to play with the rock 'n' roll legend's son, Jakob Dylan, and his band the Wallflowers.
The Delta Center show features two big bands for the price of one. Counting Crows and special guests the Wallflowers begin performing at 7 p.m.Since The Wallflowers' June visit to Salt Lake City at Club DV-8, the band has been high on the charts with the single "One Headlight." In fact, members could arguably warrant the title of headlining band for the upcoming show but instead take second billing to the Counting Crows.
The Counting Crows are also riding high, with the success of "Recovering the Satellites," the follow-up to the group's multiplatinum album "August and Everything After." According to an interview in the New York Times, Duritz generally refuses to play the band's biggest hit, "Mr. Jones," because he no longer relates to the lyrics, but all other songs are fair game.
Tickets for the show may be purchased by calling Smith'sTix at 467-TIXX or 1-800-888-TIXX.
