Victoria Ann Bush Showell, age 94, passed away September 3, 1997 in Sandy, Utah of causes incident to age.

Born May 19, 1903 in Sandy, Utah, the daughter of John Edward Bush and Amanda Larson Bush. Married Thomas (Tom) William Showell May 4, 1921 in Salt Lake City. Her beloved Tom preceded her in death February 4, 1987. Mother was instrumental in organizing the School Lunch Program in Jordan School District. She worked as manager of the program at Riverton Elementary and Junior High School, and later West Jordan Middle School. She also catered many parties and banquets. She was widely respected for her culinary talents, and shared her expertise with everyone. She also worked many summers as the cashier at the West Jordan swimming pool. Following her retirement at the age of 75, she developed a great love and talent for oil painting. Again, she shared her paintings with family and friends and became an active member of the Intermountain Society of Artists. She was also an avid gardener, and loved growing beautiful flowers. She also kept a small herd of sheep which gave her much pleasure. She was a member of the Lutheran Church.Survived by sons, Thomas William Showell Jr. and his wife Della of Taylorsville; George (Bud) E. Showell and his wife Carolyn of Riverton; daughter, Vickie S. Phippen and her husband Donald of Midvale; sister, Virginia Lee of South Jordan; sister-in-law, Ethel Bush, Henderson, NV; grandchildren, Steve Showell (Mary Ann), Kim Coulter (Bryan), Carlene Sommer (Jonathan), Carri Jenkins (Paul), David Phippen (Pamela), Camille Rhees (Robert), Darin Phippen, 20 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Gus and George; and sisters, Victoria and Ingeborg.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 1997, at 12 p.m., Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State, where friends may call Saturday from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.
