On Wednesday evening, Sept 3, 1997, Charles Burke Depew, age 49, left us and had an early joyous reunion with his mother, Martha Faye Simmons Depew (died Feb 3, 1995) and his 13 year old nephew, Christopher Bud Pate (died Oct 19, 1996), and with our Heavenly Father and Savior.
Burke was born in Payson on March 12, 1948, to his dearly beloved mother and father, Jack Burke Depew. He graduated from Payson High. He was currently employed at Payson Mountain View Hospital. Burke is a member of the LDS Church and served his country in the US Army Reserve.Survived by father; sister, Sharla Joan Depew Pate (Bud and daughter, Brittany), and brother, Mark E. Depew, both of Salt Lake City.
Burke was a bright, kind, gentle, and loving son and brother, and friend. He loved sports, bike riding and his family. He adored Christopher and Brittany and spent a great amount of time with them. He was his mom's best friend and his dad's lifelong companion. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. But in Burke's own words, "he will be in a much better place".
At Burke's request, we will have a graveside celebration of his life and reunion at Payson City Cemetery on Sat, Sept 6, 1997 at 3 p.m. Walker Mortuary, 587 S. 100 W., Payson.
