James Morris Sanders, age 78, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully at home on September 5, 1997.
Born on August 22, 1919 in Rocky Ford, CO to Floyd Sanders and Edna Ruth Morris. Married Julia Anderson on October 10, 1943. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Jim was a hard worker and selfless provider. A convert to the LDS Church, he was an honorable Priesthood holder who supported five children as missionaries. His triumph over adversities, including a serious industrial accident, was an inspiration. Much of his retirement was spent serving his neighbors with mowers, tillers and snow shovels. His treasure was his family and he died a wealthy man.Survived by his wife, Julia Anderson Sanders; children: Judy, Jolene (Kent) Anderson, Roger (Julie), Ron (Julene) all of Salt Lake City, Rory (Kim) of Parker, CO and Roland (Gail) of Mesa, AZ; sisters: Mildred Webb of Tucson, AZ, Eleanor "Pete" Clifton of Morehead, MN, Carol (Don) Gause and Prudence "PA" (Charles) Gee of Rocky Ford, CO; 18 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Preceded in death by a son, Randy and brothers, Edwin "Bud", Homer, Robert "Bob", Jerry and Carl.
The family would like to thank the Brookside home care providers, especially George, Ben, Lisa, Helene and the two Susans, for their caring professionalism.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 9, 1997 in the LDS Wilford II Ward Chapel, 3179 South Highland Drive. Friends may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the ward chapel on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
