Nabisco's little Triscuits have a new shape and taste. You'll find the whole wheat cracker in a triangle shape in a baked "thin crisp" original flavor and french onion as well. The 8.5-ounce box retails for $1.69.

Nihla Lake (married, two children at home): "Triscuits tried to clone themselves as a new snack cracker, but something went wrong! The result is lighter, with a crispier texture and is absolutely irresistible in a fun new shape. (Or so it says on the box). We tried the original flavor and they really are easier to eat. We thought they were light and crunchy - but not my husband, who says he'll be loyal to the old, tough, square original cracker."Edyth Jensen (married, one daughter and two grandkids at home): "Most everyone in our family liked them. To me, they're better than the regular which are too much like shredded wheat! The french onion flavor was just right. We'll probably buy them again."

Don Russell (married, five children at home): "Our original thin Triscuits didn't surprise us much. Of course, was there really a surprise element? This product is a given. Almost everyone has munched on Triscuits. I'll align myself just a wee bit with Nabisco's claim that this new version is a little lighter and crispier than the original cracker. I do like the new triangle shape. If nothing else, it makes dipping much easier."

Linda C. Tingey (single mother, two sons at home): "My very first reaction when I tried these new Triscuits was that I had just bitten into shredded wheat. Then the salt kicked in and I decided these crackers kind of grow on you. I thought I wouldn't like them because they're so dry, but the flavor is delicious and my boys all like them. They have the right amount of salt and flavoring, so I'll be buying them again."

Rich Firmage (married, four children, oldest 12 years old): "We first saw these at Thanksgiving time. We liked them so much that we got some for New Year's Eve. We have tried the original and french onion flavors. They are great. With the triangle shape, my wife commented that they'd be fun to use in her first-grade class as another edible math lesson. We'll get these again."

Bill Allred (married): "I tried the french onion flavor of the Triscuit thin crisps and liked them well enough. They have a very strong flavor, and they're good for eating right out of the box. There is a drawback, however; these snack crackers don't leave your breath smelling its best. After eating some of these and even after brushing my teeth, Jenne asked, `What's that smell? Did you use a dandruff shampoo?' "

Conclusion: Nabisco's new Thin Crisp Triscuits were a big hit with our testers. Crunchy, flavorful and even better for dipping. If you're still on your honeymoon like Bill Allred, we suggest you skip the french onion flavor.
