Clifford Stanley Berg, Jr., our loving husband, father, grandfather, son and friend, died Sunday January 11, 1998, of injuries sustained in helicopter accident.
Stan was born April 18, 1949 in Honolulu, Hawaii, a son of Clifford Stanley and Glenna Pickett Berg. On August 31, 1968, he married Kim Headley in Evanston, Wyoming. Their marriage was late solemnized on July 2, 1975 in the Ogden LDS Temple. He was a member of the Lakeview LDS ward. Stan had served in many different in many different capacities in the church, including branch president, high counselor, Young Mens presidency, Aaronic Priesthood advisor, Sunday School teacher, and was presently serving as the Teachers quorum advisor in the Aaronic Priesthood. He had also served in the Boy Scout organization as a merit badge counselor.Stan had served in the US Army during the Viernam conflict. While in the service he had received numerous Army commendation medals. He had received the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious service. He had also received the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart for his dinstinguished service. He retired from the military after many years of dedicated service.
HOe is survived by his wife, Kom, or Roy; two sons and one daughters, Christopher Steven (Lenna) Berg, Bountiful, UT; Elder Ryan Jeffrey Berg, serving a mission in Fort Worth, TX; Jennifer Lyn (Eric) Jensen, Clinton, Ut; two grandchildren. Also surviving are his mother, Glenna Berg, two sisters, Glenna Marie (Jerry) Johnson and Charlotte (Rich) Carter. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister.
Funeral services Friday, Jan 16, 1998 at 11 a.m. at the Lakeview LDS Ward Chapel, 4900 South 200 West, Roy, UT, with Bishop Douglas Porter, officiating. Friends may call Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, and also Friday at the ward chapel from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Roy City Cemetery, where Military honors will be accorded.
