Our loving and gentle son, J. Derek Brinkerhoff, came into this world on March 23, 1979, and was taken from us January 20, 1998, in an accident.
He was a kind and beautiful child that had a great love and affection for those around him and especially for his five sisters and one brother. He loved Scouting, especially Scout camps and earned an Eagle Scout when he was 13. He was active in his Deacon and Teachers quorums. He loved small children and helped teach many in the West Point area how to swim during his mother's swimming lessons. He was a hard worker and achieved at all he did.He is survived by his grandmother, Mary Brinkerhoff, Midvale, Utah; his grandfather, Gordon Orr, Spanish Fork, Utah; his oldest sister and brother-in-law, Dave and Jessaca Olsen, and their lovely daughter, Joanna, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Aprihl, Dustin, Roxanne, Evie, and Mindy Brinkerhoff, all of West Point, Utah; his mother and father, Delilah and Jim Brinkerhoff, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. His laughter and his sense of humor will be sorely missed.
