The actor who played Tom Hanks' friend Bubba in "Forrest Gump" pleaded not guilty to charges that he stabbed his former wife's boyfriend with a butcher knife.
Mykelti Williamson, 40, was charged with one count each of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. He is free on $180,000 bail pending a preliminary hearing on Jan. 30.Williamson, who entered his plea Tuesday, was arrested Jan. 5 for investigation of stalking his former wife, Cheryl Chisholm, and stabbing Leroy Edwards.
Edwards underwent surgery for his wounds.
