Our beloved father, grandfather, and brother passed away quietly in his home on Friday, January 2, 1998.
Art was born on April 18, 1923 in Thistle, Utah to James Jay Garland Hubbard and Vera Juanita Hemming Hubbard. He married Louise Geneva Mann in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 20, 1944.Art graduated from West High School. He worked as a railroad lineman in his youth and worked in the grocery business for over 40 years. He loved serving others and brought joy to all he knew. He was an active member of the LDS church and served faithfully in many capacities, including two bishoprics. He was a loving son and brother, a devoted husband, a dedicated father, a sweet grandpa and a valiant servant of God.
Art was preceded in passing by his wife, Louise; his parents; his brother, Jay; sister, Jessie; and an infant son.
He is survived by his children, James (Ruthanne) Hubbard, Cheyenne; Marjorie (Richard) Walker, SLC; sister, Marguerite (Hal) Ensign, Murray; brother, Joseph (Shirley) Wall, Sandy; six grandchildren and one great-grandson; former daughter-in-law, Corinne (Dennis) Bolingbroke, Sandy.
Services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 12 noon at Grant 2nd Ward, 711 E. Jepson Ave. Friends may call Monday 6 to 8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State and prior to services from 10 - 11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment Murray City Cemetery.
