Marilyn Beckstrand De Vries, age 46, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in her home in West Jordan, Utah, after a valiant fight against cancer on January 7, 1998.

Born March 30, 1951 in Richfield, Utah, a daughter of Harold Lovell and NaDean Oldroyd Beckstrand. Married Kerry Edward De Vries June 3, 1972 in the Manti LDS Temple. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many callings in her wards and stakes as well as a teacher in the schools. She was a graduate of Millard High School and Utah State University.Survived by her husband; six children, Brian (Mary Ann); Jason (Shanna); Bradley, serving the Portugal Lisbon South Mission; Michelle; Alycia; and Jared; her parents and five brothers and families; husband's parents; two brothers; a sister; and their families; and many relatives and friends. Preceded in death by twin sisters, Dean and Diane. She is greatly loved and will be missed by all.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 12, 10 a.m., in the West Jordan East LDS Stake Center, 1899 West 7600 South. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Sunday 6-8 p.m. and at the Stake Center Monday one hour prior to services. Graveside service, Meadow, Utah, Cemetery, approximately 2:30 p.m.
