John James Gibson, age 63, passed away January 7, 1998 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born January 27, 1934 in Greenwich Village, New York, son of John Henry and May Kettles Gibson. He married his childhood sweetheart, Anne Klecan, on September 27, 1951 in New York City. Retired from the New York Transit Authority. John's favorite hobby was watching his grandchildren grow. He enjoyed Bingo, Lotto, photography and singing "Danny Boy". Dad had the ability to lift people's spirits regardless of his own personal suffering.Survived by his wife, Anne; children, Jack (Barbara), New York; Peter (Ana Lucia), New York; Anne "Nelly" (John) Tasi, West Jordan; Pat (Jimmy) Kronske, New York; Fran (Dean) Milligan, Seattle, Washington; Andy (Liz), Salt Lake City; Maryanne (Harry) Cordts, Millville, Pennsylvania; 15 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Eddie, Bobby, Virginia and Alice.

The family extends a special thanks to doctors Genebach and Gordon, the staff of the Diabetes Center at St. Mark's Hospital, the Clergy and Deacons of St. Francis, members of the Kearns 12th Ward and friends.

Services will be held Saturday, 7 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where friends may call Friday, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 340 East 400 South, SLC, Ut 84111 in memory of John Gibson.
