Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend, Florence Clegg Smith, peacefully returned to our Father in Heaven, October 8, 1998 at her home in Rossmoor, California.
She was born Nov 22, 1914 in Tooele, Utah, to Peter McIntyre and Ida Mary Lane Clegg. She was a member of the Rossmoor Choral Society, the Federated Women's Club of Rossmoor, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Lafayette Ward and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She graduated from Tooele High school, attended Utah State and graduated Magna Cum Laud from San Francisco State University. She taught school for 22 years in the Orinda Union School District.She is survived by daughters, Carolee Hales, of Omaha, Nebraska; and Lane Reinwand, of Provo, Utah; a son, Roger Smith, M.D., of New Orleans, Louisiana; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Smith.
Graveside services Tuesday, October 13, 1998 at 11 a.m. in the Tooele City Cemetery. Friends may call at Tate Mortuary, 110 So. Main St., Tooele, Tuesday from 10 til 10:45 a.m.
