Carolyn Margaret Jones, age 50, was killed on October 2, 1998, in an automobile accident while four-wheeling in the Uintah mountains.

Carolyn was born on October 19, 1947, in Glendale, California and was raised in Tooele, Utah. She is survived by her adoptive mother, Margaret H. Jones, Tooele, Utah and her adopted brother, Stephen L. Jones. She was preceded in death by her adoptive father, LeGrand (Red) Jones, Tooele, Utah. She is also survived by her natural father, Robert O. Baldwin, Salt Lake City, Utah.Carolyn was retired from the Martin-Marietta Corporation. Carolyn dedicated her life to working for the sick and infirm, particularly as a volunteer for the People with AIDS Coalition and was named the outstanding Volunteer for the Coalition in 1997. She was an active member of the Sierra Club; delivered meals for the Utah AIDS Foundation; worked as a Patient Advocate Volunteer at the University Medical Center, and worked with the Community Nursing Services Hospice Program. She championed any cause for the relief of the suffering of people and animals. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

At Carolyn's request there will be no funeral, nor memorial service. Her ashes will be returned to the earth in her beloved Canyonlands National Park.
