Marguerite Peterson Guiver slipped her earthly bonds, Tuesday evening, October 13, 1998.
Today we begin a celebration of her rich, full and wonderful life; and the legacy she left with a family of three children and a bounty of memories that will fill our minds and hearts until we join her.Mom was one month shy of 81. Much too young to leave us. But we will have the wonderful memories of our times growing up in the post depression years, the camping trips, the boating and fishing, and the cabin and summers in Yellowstone. She was always there and always providing as only a mother can!
Marguerite was the daughter of Swedish immigrants Charles and Jennie Peterson. They moved to Salt Lake in the 30's when her father was transferred by the Union Pacific railroad. She grew up in Salt Lake and after skipping two grades in grade school and junior high school, she entered the University of Utah at age 14.
She married Wayne Guiver on May 13, 1937 and they celebrated their 61st anniversary in May. Marguerite enjoyed reading and camping with their many good friends in the Utah Rainbow Sams and Tepee Tenders Camping Clubs.
Marguerite is survived by her children, Dennis (Sheri), Beverly and Douglas; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
