Drug charges against Michelle Parks, daughter of Los Angeles Police Chief Bernard Parks, were dropped Tuesday after prosecutors said they had no evidence of any criminal wrongdoing by the 37-year-old woman.
Parks was charged last month with conspiracy to sell a controlled substance and trafficking in a controlled substance. The complaint against Parks and her then co-defendant, Reginald Gathwright, alleged that the two sold about 20 grams of cocaine to an undercover police officer on June 25 from a car driven by Parks.
But in a court hearing Tuesday, Chief Deputy District Attorney Scott Mitchell told Judge Nancy Oesterle that the investigation into the case had not produced any evidence "that showed Parks was in any way involved in the drug deal."
