Brigham Young University honored 11 faculty members with university professorships during its recent annual University Conference.

"We are pleased to award these professorships to some of our outstanding faculty," said associate academic vice president James D. Gordon III. "The recipients are excellent teachers, scholars and university citizens. The professorships recognize superior classroom teaching and honor excellent scholars who teach others in their academic disciplines."Recipients were Allen E. Bergin, psychology; Todd A. Britsch, humanities; Sara Lee Gibb, dance; James M. Harper, family science; N. Paul Johnston, animal science; John D. Lamb, chemistry and biochemistry; Russell T. Osguthorpe, instructional psychology and technology; Mark J. Rowe, food science and nutrition; Kenneth A. Solen, chemical engineering; David H. Sargent, music; and Chantal Thompson, French and Italian.

Professorships already held by David M. Grant and Morris J. Robins, both from chemistry and biochemistry, were renewed.
