John D. Sorenson, age 80, died November 17, 1998 in West Jordan, Utah.

Born May 19, 1918 in Magna, Utah to Orsen Peter Sorensen and Martha Louise Dunyon. Lived most of his life in Draper, Utah. Graduated from Jordan High where he was on the football team, nicknamed "little giant." Served in World War II stateside, serving as a dental assistant, and later as a guard in a POW Center. He was a heating and air conditioner installer, and then went to work for Salt Lake County Roads Dept., where he retired. He enjoyed hunting and fishing until his eyesight would not allow him to do it anymore.Preceded in death by his wife, Lois; and great-granddaughter, Ellie. Survivors include: Michael Sorenson, Cheryl (Rodney) Heaps, Kim (Ginny) Sorenson, Luann (Josef) Becker; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Private graveside services were held Thursday, November 19, 1998. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
