The name of Air Force Tech. Sgt. Richard Bernard Fitzgibbon Jr. of Stoneham, Mass. will soon be carved on the memorial near that of his son, Marine Lance Cpl. Richard Fitzgibbon III, whose name is already there. The Pentagon said in a release that the father's name was being added because of a recent change in the time limit for officially recognizing casualties of the long conflict in Southeast Asia.
