This show runs until April 2. Also, " Portraits on Paper" from the permanent collection of the Utah Museum of Fine Art will run until March 14, 1999. Also, "The Val A. Browning Memorial Collection of 500 Years of European Masterworks," featuring paintings by Brueghel, Gainsborough, Fragonard, Corot, Van Dyke, Vigee Le Brun and many others. Museum of Art (Brigham Young University, North Campus Drive, Provo, 378-2787) -- "Frames of Beauty: Questioning the Eye of the Beholder," runs through December. "Art on Wheels: A Century of American Automobile Design." The exhibition includes outstanding cars and highlights design innovations from throughout the century. Show runs through April 7, 1999. Also, "Colorprint USA," fifty artists from each state will have their work displayed through April of '99. BYU art department faculty show, featuring painting, sculpture, ceramics, illustration, graphic design and computer imagery, through May 19, 1999. And "150 Years of American Painting," artwork from BYU's permanent collection, on display through August 1999.
Myra Powell Gallery. (Union Station, 2501 Wall Ave., Ogden, 629-8444) -- "Studio 9," an exhibit featuring a variety of art disciplines; paintings, drawings and sculpture by a group of fellow artists will be on view through December. Hogle Zoo announces a call for entries for its "6th Annual Zoo Art Exhibition" that will run from Jan. 22-March 21. For entry form and information, call Jameson Watson, 801-584-1739.
Bellevue Art Museum's Pacific Northwest Arts Fair is now accepting applications to its 1999 Arts Fairs. Artists from all states and in all visual media are eligible. Artists must submit a total of five slides, four slides of their work plus one of their booth or display and $10 processing fee. An independent jury reviews all submissions. Jurying is by slides only. A booth fee of $20 or $30 and a $150 deposit is due upon acceptance. A 25% commission is collected on all sales during the event. Participating artists must be present during the event. The 1998 Fair drew 280,000 people and generated $1.5 million in art sales. The Pacific Northwest Arts Fair is presented by the Bellevue Art Museum.
Murray Arts Advisory Board's "Gallery Of Peace" is now accepting drawings and paintings from Secondary art students from grades 7 and above. The artists must have a message related to peace and cultural diversity in their work. Entries should be framed and ready to hang and should be brought to the Murray Public Library from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Jan. 5. A few artists will be selected to meet BESO, the 12 year old Russian artist who will be visiting the state Jan. 16. For further info: 264-2638.
