Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Beth LaBelle, 82, passed away peacefully February 18, 1998 after filling her life and the lives of others with kindness, love and service.
She was born April 19, 1915 in Tooele, Utah to William and Pearl Gillespie. She married her sweetheart Hal E. LaBelle on July 10, 1937. On Nov. 17, 1960, she was sealed to her eternal companion and their three children.She graduated from Utah State University in elementary education and was also student body vice-president and a member of Chi Omega Sorority. Through her devotion and dedication, she touched countless lives as an elementary school teacher.
Her life was centered around her family. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the beneficiaries of a legacy which was founded on love. Her gentle touch, warm smile and thoughtfulness warmed the heart of her family and all those she came in contact with.
Beth was an active member of the Centerville First Ward, where she found much joy serving in various positions. She had a great love for her Heavenly Father and her fellowmen; her faith was strong and never wavered. She was an example of courage and strength to all who knew her and she was truly loved by all she met.
She is survived by her three children, Hal W. (Helen) LaBelle, Carol (Gordon) Lee, and Terry (Kent) Mitchell; also, 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joel (Barbara) Gillespie, of Suisun, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hal E. LaBelle, her parents, and a brother.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 23, 1998 at 12 p.m. at the Centerville First Ward, 160 So. 300 East in Centerville. Friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 at the Centerville First Ward, prior to the services. Interment will be held in the Centerville City Cemetery.
