Mary Gail Bohn Blanchard died in her husband's arms, at home, on February 28, 1998. After fighting breast cancer for three years, her body wore out and her soul soared to Heaven. A star near the end of the Big Dipper's handle is named for her.

Born on July 1, 1947 in Cedar City, Utah, she spent the last 25 years as a clinical social worker and therapist in private practice in Salt Lake City. She attended Olympus High School, Brigham Young University, and the University of Utah.She is survived by her husband, Ted D. Blanchard; father, Afton Bohn; and brother, Kalvin Bohn. She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma Middleton.

Farewell services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 1998 at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah, where a viewing will also be held Tuesday, March 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. She will be interred at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South, Murray, Utah.

After 39 years she finally married her childhood sweetheart (the one she taught to slow dance in 7th grade) and life was good!
