Salvadore (Sam) James Tallerico. Sam's cremains will be laid to rest beside his first wife, Dolly Hitchcock on April 22, 1998 in the Price City Cemetery.

Memorial Mass, Wednesday, April 22, 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Helper. Vigil service, Tuesday evening at 7 p.m., Mitchell Chapel.He passed away April 18, 1998 at his home in East Carbon.

Sam was a life long resident of Carbon County. Born to Joseph and Teresa Mancini on January 19, 1916 in Sunnyside, Utah. He and his family were living in Castle Gate at the Time of the 1924 Mine Explosion, which left his mother with eight children to raise. A member of the Catholic Church. Served U.S. Army in the Pacific during World War II. Former employee of Kaiser Coal Mine. Retired member of U.M.W.A. #9958 with 60 years of service.

Survived by wife, Roxellana (Lee) Jo Ann Gordon Tallerico; two sons and spouses, Robert and Rhonda Tallerico, Helena, Montana; James and Jo Ann Tallerico, Las Vegas, Nevada; only grandchild, Scott Robert Tallerico; four sisters and two brothers and their spouses, Francis Oliveto, Sutter Creek, CA; Mary Williams, Tucson, AZ; Katherine and Steve Zaccaria, Helper; Amelia Pero, Helper; John and Faris Tallerico, Helper; Melio Tallerico, Fair Oaks, CA. Preceded in death by parents, infant brother and brother, Nick Tallerico. Also survived by Danalee and Larry Robinson; Jessica Lee and Tyler Shefton Robinson, all of East Carbon who cared for "Grandpa Sam" Cherryl Ann and Gregory Underhill; Cherryl Lynn and Brian; P.H. McKay Underhill; Dolly's sisters, Dessie, Cleo, Ruth and Kenna Lee Hitchcock; Sam's faithful dogs, Wimpey, Buster, Nuptze and Kitty Cat. Many other special nieces and nephews; Sam's friends, James Cassano, Jack Jensen, Tony Kranker, Shefton Gordon, who preceded him in death.

A special thanks to trusted friends, Vera Steele, Devann Steele, Officer Bob Setizer and Virginia Wheeler of East Carbon Medical Clinic for special care of Sam's medical needs.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to the Mission for the Homeless or St. Anthony's Catholic Church of Helper.
