Howard W. Price passed away April 6, 1998 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born December 15, 1912 in Salt Lake City to Douglas B. and Bertha Brauchi Price. He married Beth Lund on December 5, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah.He was president of The Salt Lake Hardware Company and Turf Equipment Company. He served as president of the National Wholesale Hardware Association, a member of the Board of Governors of the Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce and was past president of the Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce. Member of the Board of the Salt Lake City Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco for a period of six years and concluded his term as Chairman. Member of the Utah Board of Advisors, a Director of Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company and a member of the Advisory Board of the First Security Bank of Utah, N. A.

He was Fund Chairman of the Salt Lake County Chapter of the American Red Cross; past President of the Utah Foundation and an Honorary Colonel in the Utah National Guard. Mr. Price was also a member of the Alta Club and the Salt Lake Country Club.

He is survived by wife, Beth; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Burton Orme; Diane and Bruce Heacock; grandchildren, Leslie and Michelle Orme; Christopher and Stephanie Baer. Preceded in death by son, Douglas B. Price; sister, Florence Smith; brother, Roy Price.

Services will be held Saturday, April 11, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary 260 E. South Temple. Friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary and one hour prior to the services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to a charity of your choice.
