Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, George William Chaus, age 79, passed away May 14, 1998.
He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 9, 1919 to Katherine Liviakis and William D. Chaus. Married Elaine Lepas in Salt Lake City on July 29, 1951.He served honorably in World War II and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 38 years.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine; sons, William (Sharon), Michael (Karen), Gus (Kimberly), and Steven (Annette); and 12 grandchildren; sisters, Afton Kyriopoulos, and Ann Stone; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sisters, Wanda and Alice, and brother, Jim.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 1998, at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 279 South 300 West. Friends and family may call on Monday, May 18, 1998 at Deseret Memorial Mortuary, 36 East 700 South, from 6-8 p.m., with Prayer services at 7:30 p.m. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Holy Trinity Cathedral Restoration.
