Cindy Crawford says cancer touched her life as a girl.

The supermodel's brother died of leukemia when she was 8 and her grandmother, Ramona Crawford, survived breast cancer."At a very early age, I learned there was cancer treatment and death," Crawford told the New York Times.

Crawford plans to take part today in a charity run in Manhattan to benefit cancer research and has donated money from her swimsuit calendars to the hospital that treated her brother.
