Stuart Richard Noorda, 25, died Sat., May 16, 1998 at his family's home, after a courageous competition with cancer. He finished the race.

Stuart was born on November 1, 1972 in Great Falls, Montana, a son of B. Richard "Rick" and Linda Cornia Noorda. Stuart was active in the LDS Church. He had earned his Duty to God Award and was an Eagle Scout. He served a mission to London, England from 1991-1993. He had served as a counselor in the Ogden 90th Ward Elder's Quorum, a Sunday School teacher,and faithful home teacher. Stuart was a great example to us all because of his faithfulness and his willingness to serve his fellowman.Surviving are his parents, Rick and Linda Noorda; two brothers and two sisters, Matthew (Aubrey) Noorda, Jed Noorda, Emily Noorda, all of Ogden; and Jennifer (Jeff) Lakey, HAFB; grandparents, Ken and Arline Logan, Ogden; and two nephews, Joshua and Jeremy Lakey. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bert Noorda, Burton "Bud" Unck, Wendell and Emma Stuart Cornia.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Lorin Farr LDS Ward Chapel, 770 15th with Bishop David Angelsey officiating. Friends may call at the Myers Mortuary in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd. on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.
