Jason Wayne Hunt, age 27, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, passed away May 23, 1998 as a result of injuries sustained in an industrial accident.
He was born January 1, 1971 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of Terry Wayne and Beth Pace Hunt. He graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1989. He married Colette Conder Ashton, November 24, 1995 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a member of the LDS church and was an Eagle Scout. Jason was a wonderful father. His favorite times were the ones he spent with his wife and two boys. They enjoyed riding bikes together, taking walks to the park, and watching the Jazz games.Growing up in Loa instilled a great love for the outdoors in Jason. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family. Jason had a fun sense of humor. Everyone felt comfortable around him. He was always kidding around and making people laugh. Because of this quality, he had many friends and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Collette of Lehi; two sons, Brayden and Bryson; his parents, Terry and Beth Hunt of Loa; sister, Tammy Hunt of Zion National Park; his brother and wife, Trent and Cheryl Hunt of Loa; five nieces; grandparents, Barlow and Millie Pace of Loa; Norma and Metz Lay of Torrey; Fawn and Fustein Hunt of Grantsville; great grandmothers, Nola Ernsten of Loa, and Laura Hunt of Torrey; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Busenbark and two great grandfathers, Vern Ernsten and Floyd Hunt.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 28, 1998 at 1 p.m. in the Loa LDS Stake Tabernacle in Loa, Utah. Friends may call for viewing at the Wing Mortuary in Lehi, located at 118 East Main Street, Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. and at the Tabernacle in Loa, Thursday from 11-12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Loa Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
