James Dobson, whose daily radio program "Focus on the Family" reaches 5 million listeners, was hospitalized after suffering a mild stroke.

Dobson was "resting comfortably while undergoing a series of tests and procedures to better determine his condition," Paul Hetrick, a spokesman for the Christian ministry, said Wednesday. He said Dobson became ill after returning from a conference in North Carolina and was admitted to a Colorado Springs hospital late Tuesday. Hetrick said Dobson did not lose consciousness or show signs of paralysis.
