Marysvale has lost its only grocery store in a fire that swept through Tug's One Stop. The loss was estimated at $250,000, but the building was insured, according to its owner, Tom Robertson.

Fire at the business, located on U.S. 89, erupted near midnight on June 10 and was reported by a passing truck driver. Members of four volunteer fire departments fought the blaze and kept it from spreading to other buildings. The fire departments were from Monroe, Junction, Circleville and Marysvale. The town's firefighters remained on the scene most of the following day.Jim Dudzinsky of the State Fire Marshal's Office said the blaze was caused by faulty wiring. Assisting in the investigation were Marys-vale Fire Chief Paul James and Piute County Sheriff Cordell Pear-son.

Robertson said he was particularly concerned because his store was the only one in the small community that provided groceries. He purchased the business about four years ago.
