Office Depot to open store in Layton on June 22

Layton will be the home of one of 15 new Office Depot stores scheduled to open this month.

According to a press release from the office supply company, the Layton store will open Monday, June 22, at 1830 N. Woodland Park Drive.The approximately 30,000-square-foot store will employ 40 people. It will be Office Depot's first store in Layton and second in Utah.

Each new store carries a $1.8 million inventory of merchandise.

After the June openings, Office Depot will operate 629 stores, including 582 in the United States. The company had first quarter 1998 sales of about $1.98 billion and total fiscal year 1997 sales of about $6.72 billion.
