A jury has awarded $210,000 to a sheriff's deputy who was shot by rapper Tupac Shakur after a traffic argument five years ago.

Scott Whitwell won the judgment Wednesday in DeKalb County. A witness had identified the shooter as Shakur, who was in Atlanta to give a concert in 1993. He was killed three years later.Whitwell, a former police officer, said he was returning to a hotel with his wife in 1993 when they argued with the driver of a car they said almost hit them. Two other cars pulled up and the occupants spilled out, said Whitwell's lawyer, Craig Jones.

The couple ran; Whitwell and his brother, Mark, both were shot in the buttocks.
