Police have identified a suspect in the mysterious deaths of four children at two family homes in eight months.

Police Sgt. Gary White refused to say whether the suspect is a family member. No charges have been filed, and police planned to meet with prosecutors to present their findings. All of the deaths occurred at the homes of Regina Moreland.

The latest, 2-year-old Kelab Moreland, died June 25 after being found unresponsive. Montgomery County Coroner Dr. James Davis on Wednesday said Moreland's grandson apparently had been suffocated.

The deaths of the other three children also were ruled homicides, probably by suffocation or asphyxiation. Those three died at Moreland's former home in Dayton late last year.
