Viki L. Evans, age 48, passed away July 28, 1998, at her home in Riverton.
She was born April 17, 1950 in Provo, Utah to LaVon A. and Mildred Miller Vernon. She married Dwight Evans, they were later divorced. She married Alan Schaerrer. They were later divorced.Viki received her education in Provo Schools, and graduated from Provo High School. She lived most of her life in Provo, recently moving to Riverton. Viki had worked at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo for the past 23 years.
She was a member of the LDS Church.
Viki is survived by one son and one daughter, Jordan B. Matthews, of Phoenix, AZ; and Joplin Evans, of Tooele, UT; daughter-in-law, Melissa Tafoya; four grandchildren, Danielle, Makena, Tylynn and Madison; her father, LaVon Vernon and step-mother Mary, of Provo; four brothers and three sisters, Connie (Richard) Westerwelle, Highland; Marj (Lloyd) Jansen, of Camp Verde, AZ; Robert (Gwen) Vernon, of Sandy; Bernadine Vernon, of Hemet, CA; Phil (Judy) Vernon, of Riverside, CA; Rick (Suzan) Vernon, of Delta, UT; Karen (Jim) Pidgeon, of St. George, UT; Doug (Connie) Vernon, of Riverton, UT; special friends, Barbara Christensen and Janice Christensen. She was preceded in death by her son, Tyler Evans; her mother, Mildred Vernon; a brother, Dan; and a sister, Teri Vernon.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, August 1, 1998, at 2 p.m., at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, Provo. Friends may call Friday evening, from 6-8 p.m., at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, or Saturday at the Cemetery.
