Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Carol Reid Holt, age 87, passed away peacefully August 8, 1998, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born June 24, 1911, in Manti, Utah, to Edgar T. and Ida Farnsworth Reid. Married Paul M. Holt on Valentines Day, February 14, 1933, in the Manti LDS Temple. They have been sweethearts for 65 years.Carol received her education in Manti and attended Snow College and BYU. She was very active in the LDS Church and held many positions. Her favorite calling was that of a visiting teacher, a calling she held for over 50 years. She also loved doing temple work.

Carol was well known for her knitting and crocheting, always giving away everything she made. In her golden years, she loved playing tennis with her husband at their summer cabin at Wildwood in Provo Canyon. She also loved playing tennis, golf, bowling and other activities at the Cottonwood Club. She was an active member of the Ladies Literary Club and the Val Norn Social Club.

Carol lived life to the fullest. She was a woman without guile and was blessed with a positive, cheerful attitude. She only saw the good and beauty in others, never speaking ill of anyone. She will be greatly missed.

She cherished and was cherished by her survivors: husband; children, Douglas (Nadine), Suzanne (Richard) Christensen, Edward (Pamela); 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; sister, Marcia Tolman of Hamilton, MT; and sister-in-law, Louine Holt. Preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and grandson Scott Lee Christensen.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 12, 1998, at 12 noon in the Holladay 1st Ward Chapel, 4568 So. Holladay Blvd. (2180 East), in Salt Lake City, where family and friends may call from 10:30-11:45. a.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City.
