Charmaine Brooks and her daughter, Lizzie, passed away August 15, 1998, returning home from a family holiday in their beloved Aptos, California.

Charmaine was born April 15, 1944, in Oroville, California, to Willis and Elizabeth Crowder. She married Skip Brooks, June 3, 1966, in the Oakland LDS Temple. Charmaine is the dedicated mother of Peter (Suzanne), Ashley (Morgan), Emily, John, Lizzie, Benjamin, William, Mary Margaret, and Olivia; the loving grandmother to four treasured "little sweeters"; and a second mother to many, "all of you know who you are."Charmaine's greatest loves in life were nurturing her precious children and gardens. Her loving way and greatest joy was to sacrifice for others.

Lizzie was born March 29, 1979, in Salt Lake City.

"Little Lizzie Lou" is the daughter, the sister, the cherished friend, the elegant dancer, the aggressive skier, the enduring runner, the cheerleader, the adventurer, all accomplished with an infectious smile. A unique combination of velvet and steel, Lizzie's spirit has always lighted the way for others.

Memorial service will be held, Friday, August 21st, at the Parleys Stake Center, 1870 E. Parleys Canyon Blvd., at 10 a.m. Friends are invited to a garden gathering at the Brooks' home beginning at 6 p.m., Friday evening.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Brooks Family Fund, in care of Zions Bank, P.O. Box 30709, Salt Lake City, UT, 84130-0709, will be appreciated.
