Jeannette Morrell died August 31, 1998 of natural causes.

Born April 21, 1912 to Jeanette McKay Morrell and Dr. Joseph Roland Morrell in Ogden, Utah, she attended Ogden schools and graduated from the University of Utah. During World War II, she worked for the FBI as a translator. She taught in Ogden City schools, Weber Junior College, and Brigham Young University where she retired after serving 18 years.Jeannette traveled extensively in Europe and spent a sabbatical year in London, England, pursuing post graduate study. A flair for drama landed her in plays in Ogden and with a Berkeley, California, group in summer stock at Ogden Canyons Hermitage Theater.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Katherine M. Garner; brothers, Joseph and David Morrell; and sister-in-law, Marjorie Morrell.

She is survived by a flock of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews who adore her, and friends so dear they constitute her extended family. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Patricia Morrell; and brother-in-law, Hugh Garner.

A generous lady, she shared her lively wit with a world sorely in need of her light touch. We will miss her.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 3, 1998, 12 noon at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, one hour prior to service. Burial at Huntsville Cemetery.
