The woman whose body was found at the bottom of a stairwell last week by a group of startled teenagers has been identified.
Salt Lake City Police Sgt. Kyle Jones said the victim was Itisha Camp, 20, from Salt Lake City.Camp's body was found Thursday afternoon in the service stairwell of a vacuum business at 165 E. 900 South. The teenagers flagged down a passing patrol car at 2:20 p.m. after they spotted the woman's body face down, her blue jeans pulled down around her ankles and her shirt partially pulled up.
Jones said there were no obvious signs of injury and police do not know if she had been raped.
Detectives are awaiting toxicology test results from the Utah State Medical Examiner's Office to see if they reveal a cause of death.
The same type of test results are key to determining what happened to James Christiansen, a 39-year-old Layton man whose body was found the same day in Salt Lake City.
Christiansen was last seen Sept. 13, packing up Olympic merchandise at a Salt Lake Organizing Committee display booth at the Utah State Fairgrounds. Christiansen had been a SLOC employee over retail sales for the organization for two months.
On Thursday last week, a man reading a newspaper account of Christiansen's disappearance looked up from the publication to see the missing man's SLOC Suburban parked across the street on about 600 East at 60 South.
Like Camp, there were no obvious signs of injuries to Christiansen.
Detectives have also been kept busy with Friday morning's shooting death of Kelly Schaelling, 34, who was killed near his West Salt Lake City home.
Police have a description of the suspects and details about the getaway car, but there is no new information in the investigation, Jones said.
